Warriors District Champs x3!
As the district tournament started the Warriors looked like they were headed in the right direction......but a hot Hixson team and good pitchin stopped the team dead in there tracks on sat. The Warriors had many chances to score but could never get a key hit and was held hittless as they fell 4-1 to the wildcats. On Monday, Lucas Lloyd started and threw a great game beating CCS 9-3. Justin Bell had the hot bat going 4-5 with 6 2 out rbi's on the day. This earned the Warriors a rematch with Notre Dame who fell to the hot Wildcats in the second game on monday. So tuesday it was Marion v. Notre Dame with a region birth on the line and the game did not disappoint. Bell took the mound for the Warriors and Mr. everything Sam Eberle awaited for ND. With the score 1-0 in the 5th, Ervin singled up the middle to plate a ND palyer and notch a run to tie the score. The Warriors came rite back however with pinch hitter, Jake Morgan getting a big two out single in the 6th to drive in 2 and put the Warriors up 3-1 going to the top of the 7th. Bell got the first guy on a strikeout then the got out 2 on a pop up....but then lead-off hitter, Hollaway flexed his hot bat and homered for the 4th time in the tourn to get The Irsih to within 1. Eberle awaited on deck as the number two hitter hit a sharp groud ball in the hole between short and third but with great quickness SS Joe Muir made a great back hand and threw the ball across for the 3rd and final out. Warriors are in!!! Next up...dreaded Hixson..but gota beat them twice to win the title!!!
